Here you guys go. I made a couple Calculators in OpenOffice Spreadsheet. I quickly made a metric version too. And decided to give it a thread. Let me know what you guys think. I might make one in VisualBasic too if I have time. 2010-04-04_120205_Wind_Speed_Power_Calculator.zip 2010-04-04_122601_Wind_Speed_Power_Calculator_Metric.zip OpenOffice Licensed Master Plumber / EPA 608 Universal License / 410a Safety Certified / Medical Gas Brazer/Installer |

I imagine for beginners that one would give most a headache. lol Give's a lot of information, some just like sweet and simple. Here's another one I just made in JavaScript it features the ability to enter either your numbers in Metric or Standard and click the appropriate button. 2010-04-04_145329_WindCalculator.zip All this one requires is a web browser. And is tiny. Licensed Master Plumber / EPA 608 Universal License / 410a Safety Certified / Medical Gas Brazer/Installer |

Hmmm Might be cause of winRar, but when I download from the link it works fine but I use 7Zip. I'll recompress it with WinRar and see if that fixes it. Here's the .Rar file from WinRar.2010-04-04_160704_WindCalculatorRAR.rar Here's a Screenshot of the Browser Calculator. ![]() Licensed Master Plumber / EPA 608 Universal License / 410a Safety Certified / Medical Gas Brazer/Installer |

I have the trusty HP calculator for my more precise needs, and air density and Pi and the wind energy formulae are permanently etched in the biological computer for quick calcs. Whatever works, the more familiar you become with the wind energy relationships, the beter you become at evaluating others claimed windmill on paper specifications. Gordon. become more energy aware |

GreemD88, I downloaded your Calculator-(Not the open office one.) with Firefox. on XP, No problem. works great for a ballpark estimate. a great tool for anyone shopping to buy a mill, this can quickly tell what is needed to satisfy requirements in terms of size for output. Thanks for a good freeby. The Altons Calc is a designers tool and would be the one to use if carving an efficient blade set for a specific Loading at RPM Time has proven that I am blind to the Obvious, some of the above may be True? |

The Zipped one works ok for me. I extracted it to my desktop and it worked first try. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

That's what I was thinking, When People see a wind turbines performance they can type in the diameter and rated wind speed and see if someones lying or not ;) Here's the basic Formula P=0.5*rho*A*V^3 P = Watts rho = Air Density (kg/m3) A = Swept Area Meters Squared - pi*r^2 V^3 = Velocity Cubed. m/s Licensed Master Plumber / EPA 608 Universal License / 410a Safety Certified / Medical Gas Brazer/Installer |
