Hi crew
I have finish working on my aluminium bearing housing project and steel body frames that I hope you can enjoyed my design for any one to look at it and several weeks ago I mounted the windmill onto my box trailer and drove up down the private road as I couldn’t wait for the wind to blow for nearly two weeks. We all had good laughs as had 2 x150 watts workshop lights were wired up on 3 phase unmodified F&P Stator as light started to grow to max voltages (15KP/h) and at the moment l am still waiting for high tensile steel cables from my scrap metal yard mate before I am able to set up my wind tower in next couple of months hopefully. Anyway here is the photo and l will build other steel body frames on aluminium bearing housing in different design in few weeks Note Only thing is l was force to use stick welder instead of using Mig welder as my 3 ph generator is too small to run my 320 amp mig as mig welding is much better finishing

Hey I've seen those blades before

Looks good Ian, very neat design.

Looks pretty go me thinks.

You could say bullet proof, dont worry about needing wind to test it out, more like a cyclone and i think it will still hang in there.

Well done

As for the welding ....we work with what we have, not what we want..looks good to me.

Hi Mate

It looks very good well engineered the only thing I see is the furling stop and mounting looks a bit frail if the wind is whipping the tail boom around and it hits the stop with any velocity, it would be a shame to wreck those nice blades, but it is functional.

I would like to see dual bearings on the input side to help the loading from gyroscopic forces and furling whipping.
Just a suggestion.

All the best

Nice work Ian,,

ahhhhh, I remember them days of F&P . What a good way to learn all about welding ,cutting steel, boring and grinding ,painting ,,the list goes on ..

Looking forward to your happy story of the output and the "Next" project.
Working on my radio mast at present,

Hi Glen and Crew
Glen said "Hey I've seen those blades before "
Yes the
Blade is from Tev’s foundry and didn’t not put the cone on yet as will do more road testing this weekend plus add other stator make dual with modified 24 volt and unmodified stator as did had some teething problem at low speed due too much goggle on the stator until l drive to 20kp/m (Using GPS)before start spinning once got it going can slow down to 15 kp/m is fine however l do not think dual stator will work will as feel might need bigger diameter blades and l might have to do some modified on the wind blade’s tip by adding some material to help to spin at low starting speed however l will show this picture later once my experiment work and also will try use Jarbar’s blades soon us Most my welding is l use WIA low hydrogen welding rod as better, stronger, and easy remove sl*g ,better finish and l hate using sh*t General purpose ace welding electrode as finish up like bubble gum also doesn’t not have the high strengths steel on heavy load
. Cheers from Ian

Well at least you would have an answer when asked "Whats WONG With your Mill"

Or you need a few PENNYS to fix it.

Is there any dampening here? The forces could be well up in the tonnes when those two surfaces collide.

Hi Robb
Thank for your comment as l have been aware of this problem as you mention to me during my designing and manufacture windmill project and carry on testing it before l put up on the Tower. Its very unlikely to fail because aluminium bearing housing. Steel frames, Tev’blades and all the material sitting on the pole are not that heavy also I will not use compression spring or rubber dampening; its not a good idea as it will make it worse for the spinning windmill blades and its uncontrollable gyroscope force so let two surface collide is no harm but look at this way for example car bonnets and car doors: how many time motorists open and slam the door for years on all thin sheet of steel? Ps Have you try use rubber hammer hit one blow on steel block?? let me know . Anyway l am desiging other windmill housing and will keep you inform in next couple of weeks

Cheero from Ian
