Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have to build a wind generator for a school project. I bought a F & P .8mm motor on ebay, but am a bit lost on how to continue.

I understand the basics, but does anyone know of any projects that could help me with mine. I'm 11

Thanks

-Pete

Hi, find the hardware to mount the wings or blade. This is a good start. If you get the PMA spinning fast enough it can generate a high voltage and with high voltage there is high current, be very careful the combination of the two can be very dangerous, please be very careful.

the above link is a good start

just because your a GURU or forum administer does not mean your always correct :)

Hi Pete,
Welcome to the forum. It's very inspirational for me,that a lad your age is willing to begin a project, that can make adults feel like they don't know very much!!!!A 12 volt F&P generator is a fairly safe choice. The F&P home pages have step by step pictures that you might be able to follow,to change the motor to a generator.I hope another member can post a link for you because I don't know how to do it.After looking at the instructions,if you have questions, you can ask them before you start.Cheers Rastus
