Try this link here. Thats a big iceberg. I dont think the icebergs make it as far as the mainland. Not sure about Tasmania. ![]() The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hmmm ... I suppose that technically, the highest mountain in Australia and territories, is Mawsons Peak 2750meters high.. part of the Big Ben Massive in the Heard Island group in the southern ocean. It is also our only active volcanic area, and is also covered in glaciers and probably the only part of our territories that would see an ice flow. (except antarctic bases, but they are international really, and not administered by Australia exclusively)... So in theory .... yes they do get here. In reality, no, not unless you get very technical about whats ours and whats not. Heard Island is about 350 sqkm in size, and Flinders is about 1300 sqkm... no volcanoes, glaciers, or ice flows here, and our highest peak is only 750 meters high.... and no lava...... all metamorphic or sedimentary. We do however share the westerly winds with Heard Island, but a bit stronger there than here..... plus it rains or snows 3 out of 4 days down there..... ...........oztules Village idiot...or... just another hack out of his depth |
