Yes its times like this when a country can pull together and rise up to face a challenge , call me ignorant but I would have never imagined it flooding in oz , i just thought it was cities and outback !! but when I saw a map of the mountains etc I understood how the weather could and does sometimes turn brutal.
i am not interested in giving my hard earned money to corrupt "leaders" to pour down the drain.

The topography of Australia is a dead give away to the past flood events, as huge areas are in fact flood plains, and recognized as such by government and planners, but people have this, live next to water mentality, and ignore past events unfortunately, anything that happened in the past will happen again, and mankind with their interference in the natural processes of nature usually compound the effects at critical times.

Just because the usual weather is drought inclined people get lulled into a false sense of security and when the flooding rain comes they suffer big time.

Hi Gavin

The cretanizer is the television set used for manipulating the social ethics of the general population, prime tool of the media supported government and commercial systems, used to brainwash the masses into consumer conformable patterns of life.

The real shame is the un-necessary loss of life and property when a blind man could have seen the water coming and let some water out of the dam prior.

I can see a class action against the govt. coming on......

Hi All

I have obtained a picture of the Dam at 200% from the engineer at the management consultant company.

Less than 1 day from total disaster, it would have made the cyclone up north look like a fart in a bottle.

It shows that luck and not good management has a lot to do with human survival in this day of large population densities on the coastal flood plain,

All the best

Well I hope they got the flood gates open and are draining that dam as we speak, cause we're sending some more rain down that way.

The following copy of email is from the man in Dalby that experienced the stupidity of government, he has asked that we pass it on as a protest against the stupid Nazi actions of these idiots and their superiors.

All the best

Bob

Subject: FW: From Gary Briggs in Dalby

There has been some amazing great story's come out of the
floods. But there are also the ones that will never be told because
in this country we tolerate idiots in government jobs and no one
wants to point the finger in case it somehow blows up in their face.

Sorry, but at my age, I have become totally disenchanted and someone
needs to tell it like it is, so I will start the ball
rolling. Please join with me to lift the lid on idiots with uniforms.

Take Qld transport. In Dalby district.

Dalby hit the news with a record flood in the Condamine River that
damaged the water treatment plant. And water needed to be trucked in
in the middle of floods. Truck drivers worked hard to get us water.

Officers from Qld Transport booked drivers for so called over
loading.......... what Idiots. Who pays? It'll get squashed and
probably has already, but what a waste of resources at a time when
manpower was critical.

Farmers crossing a road with a tractor to feed starving, flooded
stock were pulled up, the tractor measured, and they were booked
because it was slightly wide. Not only that, they were forced to
leave the tractor and go to town to get an over wide permit before
they could move it back into the farm. And this happened on an
already closed road where the farmer was the only person
around. Except for the idiots.

These are not rumors. They are facts. This morning, I was booked for
driving down a closed road to check livestock that were reported out
on the road and, at the same time, pick up my employee who had walked
over the bridge to come to work. My house happens to be 50 m past
the road closed sign, so apparently I cannot even go in and out my
gate. I tried to reason amicably with 2 idiots. Of course I got
more than a little agitated when they refused to let me down the road
to my farm. As a result they pulled a tape recorder, so I made sure
that it recorded their stupidity. I even had to insist that they
returned my driver's license. I'll definitely win the court battle
as my employee witnessed the whole affair. But what a waste of time
and resources.

Over the last 3 weeks, there have been Qld Transport officers
stationed outside our farm booking innocent locals for about 8
days. 2 guys sit in a vehicle with the engine idling and hazard
lights on 24/7. That would be 3 shifts, plus motel and other
costs. Now most of these guys were reasonable people. I had to chat
with them every time I went out my gate. Some were idiots like my
experience this morning. But the real idiots in this case are the
people who sent them out here to guard an obviously flooded and
closed road. And never bothered to check when the water went down,
and left them there. We, the taxpayers, pay them to be there and
also pay fines for trying to get on with our lives in tough times.

Wrote the above in the hour before I went to Brisbane to help clean
up the mess in our flooded premises there. While in Brisbane I was
told a true story about the truck drivers delivering food to
Gympie. As happens in times of desperate need, trucks rolled out of
the Brisbane warehouses stacked with as much as they could get
in. After all, the media was screaming for food for
Gympie. Queensland Transport then intercepted the trucks and fined
the drivers for overloading.

What Senior Idiot in Qld Transport decided that he could solve
Queensland's financial crisis by fining drivers? And sent dozens of
men out to embarrass the Government when they could have been helping
people in need.

And did you hear about the farmer who was ferrying food and other
essentials for himself and neighbors across the flooded Condamine.

Well, the SES and Police decided that was their job. Apparently it
is illegal for us farmers to even launch our boats to help ourselves
or rescue our livestock. So they sent him home after warning him
that if he continued to help, they would prosecute. As he was
putting his boat back on his trailer on the other side of the river,
he heard horns blowing and looked back to where he had been sent away
from. There were the professional idiots, in the middle of the
river, sinking. And, as we normal citizens are stupid, he had to
re-launch his boat and go back and rescue them.

Apparently they had forgotten to put the plugs in the bottom of the
boat and their training had not taught them how to simply put them in
after they discovered it and then how to bail the boat out. He
should have let them drown. That would be called "natural
selection". But again, they had been sent out with an attitude
rather than real training. So who is at fault? Need I answer that?

As I said at the start, there have been many, many great deeds by the
vast majority of people, but when a society gets to the point that
ordinary people are stopped from helping each other and are forced
into submission by bureaucrats, Where are we going?

Please add your story's and keep this going. somehow, we have to
reverse the stupidity that makes our nation the dumbest in the modern
world.

Our great grandfathers would be appalled.

And if any of you have the personal emails of any Politician, or
Media people, please make sure they get a copy.

Gary Briggs, Dalby.

Hi Member
We have been living in Murphy’s Creek and today two detective police officers made a visit to my home and asked me a few questions about the floods and i was surprised that they asked me to release the photos my wife and myself took of our community to the police, including us as volunteer workers at my friend’s who owns a Withcott service station.
During the conversation I asked why speed camera’s were being used the day after the floods to book many motorist, which some of them may have lost their homes, loved one, or anyone who had been affect by flood disaster. Its time they lifted their game up.
I asked if any charges against me as they said there are no charges but what the hell are they asking me for the photos for?
The police have given me a few days to release these photos and a statement. i also that l do not want to discuss what happen on that day flood arrive in my area Any suggestions about what I should do?

Who knows Dwyer, if you dont want to give them the photos tell them they were lost in the floods. cant enter your house unless you invite them or issue you with a search warrant which a judge will never issue unless there is reasonable cause.

Although I was bending the road rules the other day, it didnt stop me reporting a couple of the boys in blue for hooning. and I hope they get their asses kicked too.
When I asked them (as of course they were stuct in the jam just like I was and their behaviour in fact got them no where)
"we're on a job mate" -yeah? why the $uck aren't the sirens on and why are you still sitting here in traffic.
makes you loose faith in those that "serve and protect" instead its jump the queue, go around the bend sideways and think no-one saw you (or noticed that you were an unmarked cop)

hi Bob
Got copy of

ENRAGED: Dalby grazier Gary Briggs has stepped up his campaign against `bureaucratic insanity'.Picture: Cathy Finch Source: The Courier-Mail
A DALBY grazier charged over a petty offence during the January floods will today step up his grassroots campaign against "bureaucratic insanity".
After receiving a $600 infringement notice in the mail last week, an enraged Gary Briggs has again taken to the internet to fight the charge and urge others to do the same.

A similar email from Mr Briggs last month was forwarded to hundreds of Queenslanders and landed in the inboxes of senior politicians.

"It's not that I got fined. It's just about the fact that we're not allowed to go and help each other," Mr Briggs, who also owns Dingo Mini Diggers, said.

"There's no common sense."

Since airing his anger, Mr Briggs said he had heard multiple stories of over-zealous Transport officers fining farmers and truckies as they tried to help others.

He hopes people power will force authorities to "cut some slack" for locals lending a hand.

Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar.
.End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar.
Transport Department figures show one in 10 fines issued for flood-related offences, including driving past road closed signs, were waived after complaints. That included $1200 in fines to Dalby farmer Drew Bremner for driving a tractor along a road to deliver feed to starving cattle.

Another $600 overloading penalty slapped on a tanker driver as he trucked water into Dalby after the town's drinking supply ran dry also was rescinded.

Others have appealed penalties, including a Toowoomba man trying to deliver goods to flood-affected areas who was told by local police a road was open only to be fined $600 by traffic officers.

Even council workers in clearly marked cars were held up despite telling inspectors they were going to fix Dalby's flood-damaged water treatment plant.

Mr Briggs said he hit trouble after driving along the closed Moonie Highway to collect a friend who had walked over a bridge to move stranded cattle.

Mr Briggs, whose farm entrance was 50m behind the road closed sign, said explanations to transport officers fell on deaf ears.

Dalby farmer Mike Gosden said inexperienced officers "went berserk" during the floods while the advice of seasoned locals was ignored.

Mr Gosden said he experienced "stupidity" first hand when, while attempting to settle cattle stranded on a 100m highpoint, uniformed men flew low in a helicopter and ordered him away from the water.

A Transport Department spokesman said 14 inspectors were dispatched during the floods to help protect the water-weakened road network and ensure people acted safely.

Hi Dwyer

The stupidity of these officers is learned from their masters and the QLD government trying to collect money from the public.
Dalby has long been known for being used as a training zone for these mindless power happy idiots that think their funny hat gives them the right to persecute the locals.

Its about time that the farmers and concerned residents of Dalby got together to throw this pack of undesirables out of their town.

There is a long list of actions against citizens in their own country by these Nazism orientated jack boot wearing storm troopers, we are the public and they are public servants (not) thats why I call then Pubic Serpents.

The government is supposed to be there for the benefit of the people but anybody that believes that is a firm believer in the tooth fairy.

hi Bob
This is Top of Pubic Serpent's ideas throwing our $$$$$ away

THE TOP 8 RECIPIENTS OF THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT'S AID DOLLARS IN 2010-2011
Indonesia - $ 458.7 million
Papua New Guinea - $ 457.2 million
Solomon Islands - $ 225.7 million
Afghanistan - $ 123.1 million
Vietnam - $ 119.8 million
Philippines - $ 118.1 million
East Timor - $ 102.7 million
Cambodia - $ 64.2 million
TOTAL = $ 1,669 million -to be given away in 52 weeks
..but wait, there's more... !!!!!!!
* Australia provides approximately 150,000 tonnes of food aid every
year-about $65 million-to Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Sudan
and Chad.
* In 2010-2011 the Australian Government plans to spend almost $4.4 billion
on development assistance to under developed countries.
SO..... Ask your local Member how come 2011 Queensland flood victims get $17
million so far?
When insurers, such as Allianz and CGU, provide cover for storm damage but
EXCLUDE FLOOD from their home and contents policies.
SUGGEST, we EXCLUDE them from our Shopping Lists ????
And now Gillard will give nearly $500 million for Indonesia's Islamic
schools which are largely moderate in outlook but there have been pockets of
radicalism that have produced terrorists in Indonesia, most notably the
cleric Abu Bakar Bashir's school in Ngruki, central Java, where some of the
Bali bombers studied
STOP THE OVERSEAS AID NOW AND DIVERT THOSE FUNDS TO QUEENSLAND.
WHEN QUEENSLAND HAS BEEN REBUILT AND BACK ON ITS FEET,
THEN WE CAN HELP TO BUILD MORE ISLAMIC SCHOOLS OVERSEAS. AND HERE'S AN IDEA:

MAYBE WE CAN ALSO TEACH ABU BAKIR'S DISCIPLES TO SING:-
"KOOKABURRA SITS ON THE OLD GUM TREE",
"KUMBAYAH",
"WALTZING MATILDA"
AND
"I STILL CALL AUSTRALIA HOME"!!
AND, NOW WE HAVE TO PAY A TAX LEVY.............

Hi Matt and Dwyer

We live in a time when fools rule, and do what they want with the public purse unfortunately, nothing and no one moral or logical can challenge their actions, they carry on like a pack of inebriated monkeys, unable or unwilling to make hard or even logical decisions.

The populace in general has no say in the use of their hard earned money, by the government, and no control over how the commercial system screws the public out of their just dues in time of calamity.

I believe we just do our own thing and keep ourselves neutral to their dastardly actions, and train our children not to be like them, and to be a independent person able to see the hypocritical goings on around them.

That is why we do alternate energy things to have some degree of ortonamy, our children and grand children will have to live in a vastly different world to us, as the system as we know it collapses, the best we can do is to teach them survival skills that they will need in the future.

Matt you mention education, it is the biggest tool of the powers that be, to create a conformist population from cradle to grave.

We are living at the end of an era in history that has been modeled in the past by world powers, and now with globalization the whole world is in the same boat.

Our politicians are only fool puppets being told to do things by higher powers and the commercial system that has trained all of us to be consumers of their wares to make profit for them.

We should feel sorry for them, the politicians, as they put so much time and effort into trying to be useful and relevant in society, only to become a legend in their own mind, and a complete idiot in the minds of all critical observers.

Beside that if it wasn't for politicians there would be only half the amount of jokes in the world.

Off the soap box

All the best
