I bought a few reading lamps, made in China.

It have 8 LED's

and all are soldered in parallel.

The wires are connected via a switch to 3x AA sized batteries.

So, LED's are connected to 4.5V and I think is too much. I like these lamps and I want to make them resist longer. I think a 56R resistor will do the job. Or maybe 1k resistor if I want to use a LM7805 to connect them to a 12V system.

These lamps I think can be found also in Australia.

Any experience of using them?
