Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Not knowing the difference between a Member and active User or active user and Guest I clicked on the active user link looking for enlightenment.
Below is what I'm curious about. Is this search engine making a copy of the web site or a monitor to pick up usable material for use elsewhere or possibly Glens link to the server?? Just Don.t trust people looking for info on site building.

Guest 3 28 March 2010 at 3:27am 28 March 2010 at 12:56pm 569 minutes Search Robot Googlebot

Seems like a lot of minutes to be on the same site.

Time has proven that I am blind to the Obvious, some of the above may be True?

Thats the googlebot doing its thing, nothing to worry about. The minutes number is probably an error, the forum software lost track of the bot after it moved on, or the bot has been connected all this time. Either way, its fine.

The googlebot, like most search engine bots, scans the site regularly, looking for new content to add to its search engine. As a rule any post more than a couple of days old is on the Google servers. If you take a post from a few days ago and copy the exact text into a google search, inside "", it will usually find the match. Eg, typing in "old wincharger up and working the original blades are in the garage" from the wincharger post on the 25th, will find a match, its already in Googles database.

The search engines pretty well have a copy of every web site out there, they must have some serious hard drive space

Glen,
Thanks for the education. Sorry to have bothered you in this period of catch up after the storm. I appreciated the Weather maps of the storm path through your neighborhood and agree to your statement. "Anyone who says they are not scared is telling a lie"

I once had a power line fall to the ground not more than 2 meters from the side of my car during a Tornado, the broken end hit a fire Hydrant and over 60 meters of wire disintegrated in a brilliant flash against the darkness of night.
The headlights on the car illuminated Bushes, backyard furniture, trash. lots of grass crossing the road at high speed. A few feet ahead was a roadway cut through a small Hill- Hump, I parked here with headlights on and watched the havoc overhead. Scared/? Uh-Huh.
