You know your a true northern Queenslander when the temp has plummeted down to 20C(68F) and you want to put on something warm to wear.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.

Yes,, we've had the fire going last few nights . We are around 3 degrees lower up here than down the coast. Have 10 years of firewood ,so that not a problem.

And, Yes Glenn, us Queenslanders know when it's getting cold by the onset of thick bacon bone soup, doublesmoked hocks are the way to go...

Keep warm ,friends.

I dont know, you Queenslanders are never happy.

Here a few weeks back you were complaining about it being too windy, now its to cold.

I thought the catch phrase was beautiful one day and better the next.

You sure you guys are not English, and just having a need for a winge.

Well it could be worst and you be in England where their national flower is mildew.

Pete.

Ps:- Its bloody cold here too.
Sometimes it just works

I think the clique supposed to be: beautiful one day and perfect the next.

And i agree if queenslanders aren't complaining about the heat and humidity, they are complaining about a cyclone that might bearing down on them.

Just stuck the oven themometer outside and it measured 8 degrees.
In Mt Barker where my sister lives it regulary gets down to 0 degrees on these clear cloudless nights.
When i was at uni the uninsulated share house i was living in regulary got down to 7 or 8 degrees in my bedroom, so the joke was:
"Thats only 4 degrees warmer than a supermarket fridge, and you KNOW how cold they are!!!"

Hi All

Just checked the thermometer under the back veranda and its 3 degrees in sunny Qld at 3am so you southern guys are sending some of your air up here, but the days are great shirt and shorts all day from 9am on. top temp gets to 40 for a couple of weeks a year but thats OK, really 3 months are a bit hot or cold but the rest of the year is great.
Best place I have lived in Australia, On the coast it moderates a bit but higher humidity.

Don't all rush to move here though because there not much wind most times especially after you put up a windmill.

Love QLD

All the best
