Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

"Youth Repellent", plays Barry Manilow and other such artists to dislodge and move on stubborn Youths. Used to great effect by many councils in clearing those pesty Youths from public malls and shopping centres. Order your supply today! :)

I heard tell of testing of acoustic "youth repellent" devices that generate an annoying/unpleasant high frequency noise that it is alleged young folk can hear, but those of us who have been less kind to our ears, cannot.

I've got concerns about what it'd do to babies and young kids of only a few years old, if it were to be widely deployed in public places.

Youth repellent is most likely a very high pitched noise that to the young sounds like angry mosquitoes on steroids and that us oldies cannot hear. Or it could be the mosquito device to deter young people (this sux and we can all hear it).

Seem like a lot of trouble to go to, when a simple sign saying "Hard work and no computer" would work just as well. Edited by Downwind 2010-07-13
