For our Ozy viewers. SBS, 8:30pm Tuesday, The Story Of Science, has an episode called Can We Have Unlimited Power

"We are the most power-hungry generation that has ever lived. In this episode, Michael Mosley tells the story of how that power has been harnessed - from wind, steam and from inside the atom."

Might be a interesting show.

Glenn,
Taped it and am looking forward to it>
Thanks.

Hi Dom

Yeah it was OK, not what I was expecting, more of a history lesson than anything new. But the bit about early wind energy was interesting. Holland was one of the early players and used wind to drive their industry. It reshaped their economy.

Interesting that places like Holland saw the future
in action, and Gillard sees the future in taxes.

After all the talk has gone cold, only the smart companies
and countries will survive & prosper. The US won't be one
and I suspect we won't be either. Very sad.

Yeah I agree. No one on either side of the parliment has a plan for the future, we are currently leaderless, and while there is so much money in coal things wont change in the near future.

It's up to business to make the move, government will only get in the way.

I saw this bit and its interesting to know what other countries are doing about the energy problem. I wouldn't be too pessimistic about this country's future mates.
