The Carbon polluters I notice that the prime minister has got the Carbon Tax passed, The Coal users, Power plants and Steel mills will need to make price adjustments to cover the new Tax and additional record keeping. At the same time, trying to make a budget balance and improve the filtering technique. The Aussie Economy will donate $300 million to the welfare of the steel industry so they can afford the tax on the thousands of tons of burned Coke. The price of steel will rise to reflect the new cost even though it has been paid through a subsidy. Sorry Glen,, This is not a positive outlook, But I'm sick of politicians handing out subsidy's to fix bad management, If the Business failed ? Why throw public money at it.? Chrysler Corporation here in the States Has been Bailed out of bankruptcy Twice. The Savings and loan business 4 or 5 years ago got a Gov. bail out The major banks observed how easy this was and put the screws to uncle Sam last year. A million Aussies will put up 300 Dollars for the Boardroom members of the steel industry. Glen, If this is Too Doom and Gloom, feel free to edit or delete, makes no difference. Hi Roe The carbon tax has been very divisive in this country. It was like this when they introduced the GST 10 years ago, or banned guns. I would like to express my feelings on the matter but as the admin of a forum I shouldn't, which kind of sucks. I will close this thread if thats OK, trying to avoid these types of topics, all they do is create anger within the forum.
