Hey guys.

I've seen a few questions posted by newbies that show very little understanding of the basic electronic laws, measurement, components, etc. This isn't anyone's fault, we all start somewhere, there are some discussions on this forum that I dont even try to understand

So I'm looking for some web sites that we could point newbies to. Does anyone know of any "electronics for beginners" type of web sites?

good idea ...i,m all the time pluging stuff in the wrong way round and toasting it

this one off fieldlines,s a bit electronicky but has tutorials on some basic electronic components (color codes ,types etc) at the bottom of the circuit list

A page about "divisor resistive voltage" would be handy. I had problems in past with this...

better late than never, here are some I use over a coffee and have been around for a few years so the links should last for some time

Basic...electronics and MORE

Electricity and Magnetism

Basic knowledge of electronic parts

Curcuit Symbols AND mega more stuff

Electronics dictionary amd heaps of Calculators (inductance, resistance etc.)

More Calculators to get a handle on stuff and heaps other goodies in the index

All about curcuits...very good eye candy too :)

...all the stuff I posted can get you lost for hours, so have fun

Hi Glenn,
I found a link some time ago to a US navy course and have the first 4 files in pdf format on my harddrive. I have searched for for the link but I think this is it but updated.
