Hi friends,

Bills Machinery in Perth has 500 relays, 280VAC 45A for $10 each. From little that I know about triacs, etc. I learned the following in the meantime:

To switch AC use:

Low amps - triac + snubber + opto
Middlish amps: relay
High amps: contactor

This seems to fall into the high amp category as it can switch 280V x 45A or about 12 KW resistive load.

I am easily confused!

I may need to switch 15A inductive and $10 does not seem to be much money if only I would stop drinking, so is this a good buy??

Herb,

Google Bills Machinery Perth - AUS. web sites only to get the email address. They did not reply to my email so I had to ring them - slack!

If you are stuck, then I can get the telephone number for you.
