Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi,

Not being as skilled as Glenn or Oztules by a long shot or as rich as Warren Buffet and having had a look at all the sad Youtube videos of owners replacing caps and MOSFETs on those cheeep burnt-out Chinese grid-ties, I am wondering if there is a Chinese brand out there which gives less trouble. Looked at Sungoldpower, Jinlong, Powerjack and others and am tempted, especially before the GST comes in!

Assuming it is advertised as a 600W unit, can one manage to stay out of trouble if the max. mill output is 300W? I hear gales of laughter!

On the other hand a lot of US-based users have stacks of those funny coloured units and are still smiling, perhaps not for much longer.

Advice please!

Am sorry! Just looked at Grogster's mail re high-powered grid ties and had some of my concerns answered by Glenn. Any other comments on the more low-powered range?
