Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Still a newbie (and living on the "other side" of the world), but I have been "studying" inverter designs for awhile and would like to start a build project.

It seems like, at least for larger inverter projects, most people are using transformer cores that they have harvested from dead commercial inverters. I don't have access to anything like that (unless I buy a scrap UPS). I have searched eBay and can not find any large (2KVA) toroidal cores. I can not even find any large E-I cores and bobbins.

If you don't have access to a pile of "dead soldiers", where to you get your parts ?
