I purchased it off eBay it was on sale for around eighty bucks

I used it down at the bus for about a year

After that my buddy of mine used to it for about a year

The only real complaints I have are
not knowing the highest voltage solar panels that can be used
and it's a little bit complicated to program

I'm actually a little bit impressed with it

fake or not it doesn't really good job

The mosfets are rated for only 60v maximum, so that would probably be the highest open circuit panel voltage.

There are so many ripoffs on fleabay these days it's a joke. You can't trust the ratings on anything because they are are based on pure fantasy, greed and stupidity.
They play the  bigger the better number game and take it to ridiculous levels. I have seen 10 Ah 18650 batteries so many times and far as I'm aware, the name brand makers are pushing them to 3.5 ah so these Chinese sellers are full of it.

There are LOADS of PWM controllers listed as MPPT.  Price is a good indicator of their legitimacy but I have also seen sellers flogging controllers for $80 and $100 as MPPT when the exact same controller is being offered by most everyone else at around $20.

Not always a bad thing. I bought a couple listed as MPPT when I knew well the were PWN and then I complained to the seller and got a refund on the things. They want to rip people off knowingly then they are fair game I say.
Same as LED lights. Standard practice to over rate the hell out of those things.

I have a couple of 30 A mppt controllers and they are very good. Matched with the right voltage panels ( 30-32V) you don't loose much efficiency at all

I didn't even know what MPPT was when I bought that charge controller

A friend of mine had a couple of solar panels for sale and needed the money so I bought them

Later I realized I needed to charge controller

Bought the one above and it's been working ever since

It said it was 80 amps but I've only used it on 300 watts of solar so who knows

You are exactly right about the ratings on eBay

Yes, my Mistake, I did mean PWM.
Although the cheaper technology, being adjustable in the set points the controller I have work very well. They seem to be discontinued or face lifted as I can't see them on fleabay now.
