Just a quick sanity check question. If using a DC motor as a generator it should output DC (rather than AC). Therefore there is no need to rectify the current before it goes to the battery? ![]() Also what would happen to DC if you did run it through a rectifier - does it have any effect? ![]() cheers My middle name is luck mind you my first is bad! |

yes, you will get DC. If you run it through a rectifier you will lose a bit of voltage due to the diode drop. Around 1.5V due to there being two diodes conducting. But it won't break. |

Use 1 diode or it will "motor" when the wind drops. |
