Since it was about 1 year of continuous service from the 6kW Madness powerboard & nanoverter controlled inverter it was time to have a look to see how it's going. All OK from about 2.8 MW.hr of output over that period. Except the choke windings. I used the cable from here Two chokes, 5 turns around one, 6 around the other. The 2 chokes were wired in series. Here is the winding from the 6T choke.   It seems I need to use higher current cable and maybe something that can handle a bit of heat. The 5T choke was effected to a small degree, nothing like the above. I rewound the choke to now have both cores stuck together with doublesided tape and put enough turns in it for 70uH. The cable used allowed 3 runs of 3mm diameter (7mm2 area) so it's probably going to be good for another year. wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

That's only 7.5mm2. Maybe try 25mm2 like this one I got it from here which isn't terribly far but more than 5km, I'm sure they deliver/post though. Cheers Caveman Mark Off grid eastern Melb |
