Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has done much work with impedance controlled PCBs. I want to route the ant pin of a RF module to a ufl connector. Googled the basic theory, wondering if there are any traps for new players?
Ryan.

Used to do this sort of thing many years ago, but we had use of a > $30k real time sweep generator and spec analyzer to setup the line for correct response over the frequency range being used. Theory doesn't always match actual measured results, so without the test gear it would be very hit and miss.
Cheers Mike

Very hit and miss you say? With PCBs costing $2ea throw it at the wall and see what sticks is actually pretty feasible I recon.
