Thought it worth a picture, old GTI's had many reusable parts for our projects, looking at the newer inverter's coming out, its not so good. Another friend dropped in the other day with this Solar edge inverter, something wrong with it apparently. ![]() ![]() Its very a light weight inverter????? Ok, its PLASTIC.... plastic cover and box for the solar breaker, plastic cover for the inverter as well, the box is also plastic. It has a nice aluminium heat stink, be surprised if it hasn't got some plastic in it somewhere. ![]() Anyway, about the parts, capacitors are those black rectangular type, 70uF 700v, so they don't really fit the things we are working on at the moment, the chokes are interesting, they look like the EE type but the center is round. ![]() Mosfets and things are unknown at this time, have not seen any soldered legs yet. This is a sign of things to come.....wait its here already FFS. Edit, It has a nice Wi-Fi antenna cable. ![]() Edited 2023-05-25 21:59 by Revlac Cheers Aaron Off The Grid |

This is a 5Kw Aurora Inverter, good source of parts for our projects, there is 8 (4 pairs) blue toroid rings etc, and some other useful parts. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Aaron Off The Grid |

Have a few GTI's to look at. ![]() Here is a Xantrex GT5.0 its big heavy monster with a big aluminium fin heatsink on the front. This one works so left it together in-case I wanted to use it or the neighbours need it as it was the same model they had, If I need more parts I'm going to rip it apart. ![]() ![]() It has the usual stuff 5 blue toroid cores and about 12 of the black toroid cores and the other toroid not sure what its made of, with the wire on it, its 115mm across and 40mm deep, could be silicon steel. ![]() Cheers Aaron Off The Grid |
