Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi everyone.

I'm currently wanting to install a wind turbine and battery bank into my house. I'm willing to do as much of the work myself such as building the turbine. On the subject of charge controllers I was wondering what people would recomend for a DIY one?
I really liked the one which was on this site a few months back which had the LCD screen and was wondering if anyone has modified the code/hardware to include additional logging such as total amp/watt hours from source, total amp/watt hours load or other information which can be transfered to a pc via USB or SD card.

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Thanks

Hi breaksbassbleep (?)

Did you mean this controller here...
http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/charger1.asp

It does send basic volt and amp data out the serial port.
