does anyone know of a suitable shunt regulator to protect a battery bank from overcharging. Ive built a f&P wind generator - set up a 12v battery bank using forklift 2v cells connected in series. Oatley no longer supply the K220 kit and the commercial ones are expensive. Im at a bit of a hault until I get it sorted.

Hi mitchie, welcome.
I think Gill has a spare 220 or you could use the new oatley one here

Or you could build the one RossW designed

Thanks Highlander

The Oatley one is only rated at 300w

Does Gill have any contact details
I would rather build one in a kit form rather than making one from scratch

G'day mitchie,
My profile lists an address, though that forum contact
thingy hasn't worked for me yet. So just in case it is the same for you, reach me at: gilljadams-at-hotmail-dot-com.

I do have a K220 still in it's packet I might part with.
was working fine... til the smoke got out.
Cheers Gill _Cairns, FNQ
