Can some one recommend a free and simple vero /sea of holes drawing program. I would like to write up a simple project and would like to provide a vero type drawing for the component layout. ( it does have a mix of through hole and smd components) GM |

I used to use Veecad http://veecad.com/ There is a free version available to play with. Now I tend to use pen and paper but I must get back to using Veecad Jim VK7JH MMedit |

Many hair cuts back, when I used to have hair, I spent an afternoon hand drawing twice scale 0.15 matrix holes on an A3 sheet. Got that laminated and used a fine tip white board marker for vero board layups. Mind you, that was back in the days of ZX81 computers. No help in the tech world back then. Worked a treat, still do something similar these days. Low tech sometimes is the way to go. No batteries required ![]() |

This is not quite "veroboard" but a "breadboard" layout tool, albeit rather basic. http://www.picaxe.com/Software/Third-Party/PEBBLE/ I have checked it out but never used it, so no real comment on what you can do with it. As for a good basic design package I use ExpressPCB as it can be used in the most simplest of way and includes through hole and SMD components, it also FREE. Pete. Sometimes it just works |

Thanks Pete(s) I currently use Diptrace for my cct and pcb layouts (after many, many years of using the dos version of Protel ) and have seen some members of the forum displaying breadboard images with their projects and have just built and tested a project on sea of holes prototype board that I would like to write up. I could still use Diptrace to represent the boards. GM |
