Well, this was a different thread title when I checked my mail today.

Not any of those, sorry.

Although, the music was groovy. I'm much more into my 70's and 80's rock and pop.
Some 90's stuff, and practically none of the current stuff - yuk! With apologies to any young-un's reading this.

@ ChopperP - I play the drums to work of some spare energy, but I currently suck.

@ CG - Well, shucks, mister, thank you kindly.

The photo of me in the DIYODE mag was actually not that great a photo. It is a little too over-exposed compared to the other ones. Oh well. Your best critic is usually you. Edited by Grogster 2018-10-28

`Et Tu Brute'?

I used to play the drums for a couple of gospel groups back in the early `70s ... crikey that was a long time ago.. I havent touched then for over 40 years..

I sucked then How would I be now??

BTW the groups were.

Blue Heaven and Blue Jean Disciples. Yes I know sad isn't it? Don't bother looking on you tube they wont be there (well WE wont bet there, all evidence was destroyed... )

Kind Regards,

Mick

@Grogs. I can just picture you doing a drum roll with your welding rods trying to get them to strike. . How's the welding going anyway? Up vote for the PCB skills.

@BM. I was in a Gospel choir in Perth at that time in a musical called "Come Together" which today could mean something totally different. Quite a few people said I should be on stage....the first one out of the city. Still can't sing. People also kept on asking me "What did you do with the money?". "Yeh, I know, the money my mother gave me for singing lessons".

Hey ChopperP.

Watching a little German heavy rock on YT tonight - LINK.

This is a cover, but rather good. I like it. Good turned up loud, as the mix is really well done. Check video description for a rough translation of what is being sung.

No, I don't drum with electrodes, but I HAVE tried some drumming with SCREWDRIVERS.
Yes, not kidding. Philips head, as they have a more 'round' end. I find they balance really well in your hands, and I find them better then standard sticks, but the only problems is that the heads of the screwdrivers are pretty hard on the kit. Perhaps I could fit them with rubber stoppers or something.

On the welding, I have not done any more practise for weeks. I must get back into it.

Thanks Grogs. Interesting.
How do you find the time to get up to do all the things you do?

Unless you have something you need to weld, it's a bit hard to get motivated to practise.

Well, that's part of the problem - I don't!

I guess that is why there are a ton of things half finished!!!!

Oh well, at least each day is different.

Whenever I see this flash picture on starting DEX, I immediately think of Grogster trying to weld up a uMite circuit. (Sorry Grogs)

...I don't remember saying that last bit.

But, yes it is.

I don't try to weld electronics. Last time I tried, I got this result:

As you have appropriately put on the bottom of your posts:-

"Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops"

Not a pleasant experience.....
