Brilliant! One of Bill Bailey's best - I bet Kraftwerk enjoyed that. :)

Except that it was typical modern-day fakery

All the classic BS tricks:

Unified "audience" overreaction to a non-event

A camera angle showing silhouettes of "audience" heads and hands....Why?

A camera angle from the side of the stage but the "audience" is 100% in darkness

Not a single instance of the camera zooming-in on random "audience" members.

"But it were on t' telly so it must be real"

In this case, yes but this deception is everywhere right now and people are falling for it, hook, line and sinker.

Apart from Formula one and MotoGP, I haven't watched a TV since 2009...I go to the pub for my motorsports

I'm not sure that people are "falling for it" as such. I think it's that people simply accept modern ways of producing this sort of thing, realizing that if they were there in person they would have a much worse view and be far more uncomfortable. I would question that it's "deception" - just a production method. As for camera angles, it's not always possible to get audience shots due to camera visibility (being intrusive) and lighting arrangements. The Hammersmith is pretty old too and wasn't really designed  for audience participation shots.

You can look for "deception" everywhere - and it can certainly be there to be found - but for stage performances the cameras always have to take second place to the audience experience - after all, it's the audience that are paying most of the production costs.  :)

Boys, Boys, it's not worth arguing over, now let's  Add a drop of lavender to your bath and soon, you will soak yourselves calm. it only Kraftwerk, not like it's something important like Robert Fripp and King Crimson, or Emmerson, Wakeman, Bruford and Howe (original Yes). Me Myself I am a Tangerine Dream / Mike Oldfield guy

@Rickard5

It doesn't get any more real than our Isle Of Man TT. Real roads with real walls, kerbs, trees.

It never is a real sport for Americans when they can't win. How many countries play in the *World* series that the USA always wins?

"it's only Kraftwerk"

But it isn't.

You will have a big news story, usually a shooting. The local news channel interviews a so-called neighbor:
"Well I can't say that I really knew the suspect but yada, yada"

Fast-forward a few months and there's another incident in a different state and there's a different news channel. The "neighbor" that they interview? It's the same person as before

They are called crisis actors and they are used everywhere when a narrative needs to be pushed.

Oh c'mon. That Bill Bailey thing was infantile. You sure you're from Leyland?

I don't have a TV but I sometimes watch the old stuff on YouTube...Brit humour totally rocks!!!

The old stuff has me belly-laughing with zero profanity involved.
Those days are long gone.
