Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Not sure if BT will be supported but I asked Copilot about 5.2 because I use(prefer) classic BT

Quote  Yes, Bluetooth 5.2 with Enhanced Attribute Protocol (EATT) is compatible with classic Bluetooth (SPP). EATT enhances the Attribute Protocol (ATT) used in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) by allowing concurrent transactions and interleaving of L2CAP packets1. This means that BLE and classic Bluetooth can coexist and operate simultaneously on the same device.

So, if you're using Bluetooth 5.2 with EATT, you can still use Serial Port Profile (SPP) for classic Bluetooth communication without any issues.

At least I wouldn't take a hammer to it like I'm tempted to do with my ESP32-C3 super mini. That's gone into storage just in case I'm feeling particularly masochistic sometime...

Yeah, we've heard that before, Peter....
At this point in time, I fully believe you, but you have a tendency to pull surprises out of your hat, historically speaking.

Wireless UART link and robust because it was originally intended for industrial apps.
WiFi is a PITA and sloooow in comparison.

Oh, I have NO DOUBT how hard BT is - don't get me wrong.
I was just putting the stick in, so to speak.

Peter has amazed us before, AFTER saying he would NEVER support thing X....

I don't think Bluetooth is too programmer and resource friendly. IIRC it's one of those things that demands RAM buffers and a chunky protocol stack. I can't blame Peter on this one, it's definitely non-trivial. One of those things where you let someone else do the hard work and load their library!

This one is a definite. I hate bluetooth in real life. One of the least reliable, clunky, and confusing ways of connecting available.
As Mick says it would have high resource requirements and whether it could even be implemented alongside wifi on the Pico I don't know - I will not be trying to find out.
