... and more snow to come in NY I think. I like snow... when you first wake up and there are several inches but then reality bites and it becomes a monumental PITA for a week. The coldest I have ever experienced was a February in Montreal. -21C "feels like -28C" and it was COLD!!! Felt like someone ramming nails into my forehead. You have to be prepared for that kind of extreme and I was a complete prat walking around in trainers and a jacket - spot the tourist. I was un-prepared also for the danger of ice falling from the very tall offices on Rue Sherbrook Ouest as I did the short commute each day from hotel to office. A colleague got beaned by a fall of thankfully fairly loose snow but it was warning enough. |

@Bill ... 108F is way too hot for me!!! I wouldn't last 10 minutes there. @CaptainBoing ... nope, no significant snow for the next 10 days anyway. A trace today around noon followed by 40F. A trace Wednesday and Thursday followed by rain and 40F. About 1/2 inch the following Tuesday followed by rain and 38F. It's not supposed to be this way. We should have persistent 4 foot snow banks on both sides of the driveway by now. I miss it. Paul in NY |

goldcoast webcam live If you had been watching this a few hours ago, you would have seen me walking past at one point... The water temp was 24 deg C.... that's 75F... Was really refreshing as it was 30C for the day (that's a balmy 86F for the metrically disadvantaged) We started NY early, already cracked a few coldies lol |

We can watch the local fireworks form the comfort of our own bedroom. Far enough away so the noise doesn't upset the dogs but close enough to give a good display. 8:00 am, January 1st. Saw the first snake of the year on our morning walk. Didn't tread on it. Off to a good start! Jim VK7JH MMedit |

I'm staying at a friends place for NY (few of the old gang from school met up and had a few brews, go do a bit of fishing later), and I suspect that if Bruce and I both went outside, we probably could see each other LOL |
