Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

For the High Side Drivers, might I suggest these...

I have used them a a couple of MicroMite projects now...
Work like a champ... Include everything to drive inductive loads..
Interface directly to the MM pins...
You can measure current without a shunt or resistor..
Works with PWM and motors...
They are bullet proof...

@Zonker
Very cool indeed....need to grab some...appear to be a long lead item from what I see, though.

What is the best source anyone has found for these? I have about $30 from mouser at 10 off.

These could be the answer to a current problem for me. Doesn't look like I'd be getting them soon anyway (26 weeks!)Edited by CaptainBoing 2019-06-20

Hmmm, I have just remembered that I have a bunch of those LMD18200 modules off eBay.
Take a look at the two options in Figure 6. IIRC, they cost me ~£5 and you effectively get 2 drivers in each device.

VN7003ALH - A very interesting device. They seem to be sold-out pretty much anywhere though. I would use these, if I could get hold of some. They seem ideal.

element14 also have them, but they too say you can only pre-order them, and estimated stock availability is December.....

No kidding....and they actually exist...many thanks!

Looks like they're fast enough for PWM-ing a solenoid
