Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

We are now talking to the E64. I think I should have done the dialout bit first. But there is still much to, will it work after a shut down? will android work? Can life get any better than this?

Sadly it did not survive a power down. Adding sudo to the ln did nothing. I still have half a bottle of red which I fear will not be enough.

I am using MINT 19.1 and when I did a Google there are lots of people having problems with MINT 19.1 & WINE so the questions are.
Is Grogster using 19.1? Is ZORIN suffering from the same problem Is this a red herring?
Can I go to bed now please?

This morning I installed 18.1 from a DVD I have had for some time. It may have defects. MMEDIT now works as it should. Sadly, ARDUINO does not But the point is, there is a problem with MINT 19.1 and probably ZORIN 15. ZORIN does not come with wine because "ZORIN 15 is intended for the commercial market". There is something funny going on.

Yes, I have MINT 19.1
Having added myself to the dialout group as taught to me on the previous page, the serial always connects fine in Putty or in GFXterm in the XP VM.
I do note that you have to have the Micromite plugged in BEFORE you start the XP VM, or it moans that it can't find /dev/ttyACM0 to map it to the XP VCP and won't boot. That is a bit of a pain in the arse, as I am always swapping Micromite USB leads around as I go from one module to another etc.Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

I am not using VM. I want it to work as advertised i.e MINT / ZORIN with wine. WHY ME. I have paid $20 for a USB of 19.1 and $60 for the ability to install ZORIN 15. And ZORIN boasts about what it can do with wine. I've been had The upside is, I am much more familiar with LINUX than I ever thought desirable or possible.
