Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Martherp, My apologies, I did not know such a thing existed.  (it doesn't over here, you can only be exempt from providing a VAT statement but you always have to have a VAT number)

But..the fact that they are not a VATable company makes it worse.

If they are not VAT registered, then they pay VAT to their suppliers, just like any other end customer.  Which in turn they have to charge to their end customers otherwise they lose money.

This means for us Europeans buying from them, we now pay VAT twice. (and if i read @Pilotprix mail correctly it is more than just VAT, but also import duties??)

The reverse will also happen for UK residents buying in Europe from a small company.

Don't get me wrong : None of this is Micromite.org's fault, but Brexit.  Due to Brexit, the UK is now treated by the EU like any other third party country and everything that gets imported from the UK will require local VAT (in my case 21%) to be paid.

Many Thanks to Phil for completing my order (Arrived 10 Feb - held up in Customs it seems).  Yeah, I too will be avoiding ordering from UK as the VAT/Customs situation is just not simple.  Thanks again Phil

It is no more a burden for you than buying from any other non-EU state.

Just want to say for the record: The purchases that I have made with Phil have been a relative pittance but his follow-up has been amazing...called me unexpectedly, one day when I was struggling with something on a factory floor...had me sorted in a heartbeat.

However, if I were a website developer, I would insist on rewriting micromite.org for free

I just want to say, massive Thanks to WhiteWizzard/Micromite for turning around my Kit order. Arrived quick, and now just got to wait for the postman to deliver my STM connectors, and I can solder it all together.

Looking forward to playing with the CMM :)
