Great. I'd read that EDID was useful for enabling the monitor to distinguish between 800x600 and 640x480. Do you see any issues with either? PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

Just a thought I may be talking out of my arse as I haven't been keeping up with the "mites" or MMbasic for a while. But have you considered "spoofing" the EDID data using I2C? ![]() and / or instead of having a speaker on board (or as well as) have the audio sent over HDMI? *OPTION HDMI AUDIO ON* (IF the 2350 has this option) Then you could have the "mite" have sound and image/video over HDMI and also control the resolution the tv or monitor uses Like I said I may be totally "nuts" thinking this might be possible |

I think audio over HDMI has already been ruled out on the grounds of way too much RAM usage and CPU overhead. There's not much point in it anyway as most monitor and TV speakers are inferior to cheap active PC speakers! If you're going to plug a soundbar into the display to make it sound better then why not connect it directly to the Pico? If you are running an HDMI cable then tape an audio cable onto it. :) Peter will cordially invite you to write the new audio/video drivers too. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
