Hello Grogster, I was wrong with the thought, the output looks ok so far, but: /dev/sda2 is mounted but in read-only, maybe because of errors in this ext4 filesystem. Boot again with a stick and run a check and try to repair (it will ask): sudo fsck /dev/sda2 During the boot process, once the mint logo appears you can hit ESC to have a verbose output. Watch at what point and with which error it fails. Edit: This Linux system rescue tool collection is very mature and nice. I'm using this here and there since it came out.
