Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

The wife" has 7 large bird aviaries and wants water circulation through the ponds (one in each aviary). The small submersible pumps she's been after are just junk. Semi-sealed with nasty bearings, they'll pack up inside a year for sure. I suggested instead using air-lift pumps - no moving parts, ultra-reliable, simple, and will aerate the water too. I just need to find a suitable air source (and a large air compressor won't do - we're off-grid)
Hi ROSSW

Hi Dwyer, thanks for that - I've seen his pumps and they're bloody rippers! Sadly, they're about 1000 times bigger than I need! We only need to lift about 200-300mm, and only need 2-3 litres/minute flow per pump. I reckon a little bit of 16mm electrical conduit is all I need. The "air lift pump" is the easy bit, its the compressor (source of compressed air) that I'm after.
If I could find some reliable fishtank air pumps at a reasonable price that would work off 12V, I'd grab those and install one in each aviary, but one larger unit may be a more efficient way to go. I still have to keep the power consumption down though.
But thanks for the link!
