Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Bob,

The aluminium was used to protect the coils when filing the stator to decog it, not to repair it.

Whats the saying .....??... little bit of prevention is worth a whole lot of cure...or to that effect??

Pete.
Sometimes it just works

Hi bob I just grazed it. so a little bit of laq should be ok. Not greatly worried about it as it is pretty crappy. lots of cracks in the plastic. if u cut a piece of aluminium a bit wider than the depth of the coils, you can then fold it in a shape, leaving the open end a bit wider than the coils ( so u can squeeze it in gently by pressing it slightly) it will cover the coils nicely. Hope that clears it.
