Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

The sun was shining brightly this morning at 0800 and the system was charging at 26+ amps.
My array is 2 banks of BP Solar 85watt poly silicon panels. Each bank is 4 x 12v in parallel. The two banks are then in series to give me a 24v system.
My solar voltage usually sits around 40v on a sunny day such as today. I probably don't need heavier wire than I have, but the set up isn't the neatest in the panel wiring department so when I tidy it up (counduit etc) I'll put in the 10mm cable.
I might see if I can set up a logger to record things such as solar volts over a period of time to cover days from sunny to overcast.
I reckon we need a topic just called "My System" or something similar to showcase what we each have - a bit like a blog.
That's on my list of things to do. I want to get the new array mounted on the shed roof and then I'll do the tidy up and overhaul thing.
