Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

No idea about a surge protector I'm afraid, it probably needs to be matched to the inverter unit. Although we did use an orange boxy 4 outlet unit which had surge and earth leakage protection inbuilt. Price was over $150 by memory.

Thanks M Del. 909 sent me a SLA, which showed a voltage of 13.7 at rest. Will run the gen again and charge it and then see if it key starts.
When I ran it I checked the voltage and Hz during the switching in of a load and it remained stable. I am awaiting an answer from 909 re the surge protector. Taxation as a means of achieving prosperity is like a man standing inside a bucket trying to lift himself up.

Surge protector: As it has been said here already, an inverter manages to keep the voltage and Hz steady; 909 suggests a surge protector just in case the inverter fails. Point taken. Taxation as a means of achieving prosperity is like a man standing inside a bucket trying to lift himself up.
