Hi Peter, The PCB never completed design so I only have a couple of prototypes (on Vero-board). They are here next to me in my 'MicroMite Museum' and have not been switched on for a while so I may have a little play later to check them out again. It was for use with PS2 keyboards only - this was the only 'weakness' in the design IMHO. I was going to place an order for some PCBs next week - I may see if I can get some of the original ASCII terminal PCBs added into the order if you're seriously interested in Geoff's original module. Another option to consider is the CGMStick together with a VGA adapter board around US$43 from CircuitGizmos. Effectively a mono Maximite which you could program to take USB serial in and display on a VGA monitor. Also has a PS/2 keyboard input option as well as com1 serial input capability. To get really fancy, just use a Colour Maximite! Easy to expand with software to process escape codes, line editing, graphics etc. etc. panky ... almost all of the Maximites, the MicromMites, the MM Extremes, the ArmMites, the PicoMite and loving it! |

a slightly cheaper option, i'm afraid, is just about any raspberry pi that launches straight into minicom (i believe no gui should be required). the limitations: hdmi/dvi video only (no VGA), USB keyboard only. or just re-purpose an old laptop... cheers, rob :-) |

GDay Bob, I do have MuP-VT-Ver 2 which plugs into MuP-V2 That is based on the design of Geoff's Ascii Video Terminal. I can provide anything that you might need.. If it interests you please read both Manuals (located in the above directories) and decide whether it is suitable or not for your purposes.. PM me or email me at BIGMICK58 AT BIGPOND.COM if you want any further information. Kind Regards, Mick PS. NOTE MuP-VT will also work with MuP-3 but not with the PIC16F1454/5 microbridge chip installed as they `conflict' with each other for comms to the PIC32.. Mik Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Thanks for all the replies, I already use the tellymate but liked the full terminal with keyboard idea. I'll have a ponder. Gen1 Honda Insights. |
