JPEG files ? Hmm, how does one use a .jpeg/jpg with a uMite ? Technically not a problem, we just have the type column contain JPEG as well, and add appropriate directories, but I'm not convinced these are useful/necessary for uMite programs MMBasic Subroutines are in the MMBasic Lib category, just that there will probably be only one or two user defined FUNCTION/SUBs Links, a good idea (I think), but not sure how sustainable - perhaps a 'Further Info' column ? I'll add it to the site and see how it feels Edit : Done. Please take a look http://www.g8jcf.dyndns.org/MMBasicIILib/ Peter The only Konstant is Change |

Is there a way this library can be designed so that it becomes completely downloadable? (files/docs/sources/html) I can't imagine it being very large given it could be converted to compressed text. The idea being that there would be no single point of failure should someone decide to go onto other things or something happen. Surely a .torrent or the like could be used to mitigate the potential bandwidth issues. There are some definite benefits to decentralization which could insure it's continued growth. I'd be happy to host a mirror of this library. Would that be OK? Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

wget -r http://www.g8jcf.dyndns.org/MMBasicIILib/
should do the trick The big thing is that your Mirrors need to be Mirrors please. Peter The only Konstant is Change |

That was just subtly cryptic to me. Meaning? That they be exactly the same files? Always up to date? Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Yes Indeed ! Nightly Batch if possible. Are we really talking about Mirrors or just backups so that in the event the main site goes down, one of the backup sites can be made live, and if so, how do we do that transparently ? (us not having something like BigIP/Akami etc) If Glenn(Gizmo) hosts this stuff on TBS, wouldn't that be good enough. People could use wget to make copies of the site for themselves. I certainly don't want the responsibility of hosting this stuff in Production, especially given that my web-server is Apache 2 running on a 256MByte Raspberry Pi ! If someone with a proper Production quality web-server farm can wget my site on a nightly basis, and we publish that Production site's URL as the official URL, I'd be happy - Glenn is this kind of thing doable for you on TBS ? It is a manual process for me at the moment. These files are reasonably small, so hosting/size/download isn't an issue for me. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

The other approach is to use a cloud server. I'm running a copy of owncloud under FREENAS on a spare PC - works very well. This was easy enough to set up and using this approach any user could sync the cloud. A small number of admin users could be given write access. I haven't got the bandwidth to host it but if someone has... |

@MatherP Interesting, but I assume whoever hosted it would need a pretty decent connection to the Internet to make remote administration comfortable ? Peter The only Konstant is Change |

Ok, my company website is connected via Gbit to a german internet Backbone. Stability and bandwith, available. A daily / hourly sync with wget is no problem... www dot key-ITdot de |

I guess they're mostly appropriate for stand-alone programs and often hold schematics - see FRIDGE.JPG in the Maximite library. Mind you schematics are probably better as .GIF's but may not be available that way. Yes, I think you're right. They could simply be another one-line entry. I think they're very helpful - if they're TBS ones they'll have been sustained for 10 years or so now so that's not a bad record. Looks great to me and a major advance on the zero we had originally. ![]() Greg |
