Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Just when you thought it was all safe and you had Win 10 blocked from downloading, it appears that you may still get it.

MS has decided that it's in your best interests to get Win 10 any way. You can read about it here. It looks like another good reason to keep your Windoze updates on manual and carefully scrutinise what they want to send to you.

They are getting worse.

People are starting to get quite angry about W10, and not just the spying side.
The general GUI experience would seem to be lacking over W7(probably so the OS can concentrate on spying in the background!), which is not a good thing for the "New" OS.

F%$k Windows 10

Granted, this is a bit of a rant, but I feel his frustration, and it is further evidence - for me - not to go near W10 just yet. I am waiting till the equavalent of Classic Shell for W8 comes out for W10 kind of thing. Although, the spying in W10 is so intense, I am not sure that it would be very easy or quick for a 3rd party to develop a fix-er-up patch application - time will tell.

@ Rob - thanks, I will check out Classic Shell. So you've heard of that fella in the videos before then?

No, I don't know him at all. When the video finished, BTW I lost count of his firetrucks, there was a list of videos down the right hand side and at least 80% were by Byte Me Bits (love that name) and they were on many different subjects including Apple Macs. I reckon he just dragged up all of the complaints about Win 10 and made a story of it with him as the centrepiece. Without all of the firetrucks he could have finished it in half the time.

Don't get me wrong, I think there is a lot to complain about in Win 10 but with some settings massage, a local account, and Classic Shell it would be excellent. I'm gonna try CS on my test system tomorrow.

It's Saturday night now and I'm out for dinner and a few drinks. CYA tomorrow.
