I'm such a stupid idiot
Yes I was reading 269 on the meter, but without my glasses I didn't see the small "k"
I feel so damn stupid now, like a 10 yr old instead of 54!!!
Yes I have the excuse I had brain surgery and its made things harder to do, but that is such a stupid mistake
And yes again with regard to the capacitors
again i'm a stupid idiot......
I really feel so stupid now
They are the wrong way round
Waiting on 2 new ones to turn up now, hopefully they will arrive today, if not then tomorrow

Can you not simply re-use the two caps you already have?
Even if you've cut them off, there should still be a bit of exposed metal leg to solder onto.
At least that way you won't have to wait!

don't beat yourself up too much. The only way to not make mistakes is be perfect or not do anything. Very few qualify for the first.

The 1N4148 has its bottom pin not soldered to the board.

She took her first breath today
I changed the capacitors, made sure they were the right way round this time, resoldered the diode, and changed that resistor
Once that was done it started working soon as the gps got a lock
Thank you so much everyone, I'd have given up ages ago if it wasn't for your help and the help that palcal gave me as well
Next project - weather station to MMBasic+ with 7 inch display
It will have wind speed and direction sensors, rainfall, GPS for the time sync, wireless tx/rx from the outdoor unit to the indoor one which will have a rtc connected (updated by the gps outside) yes I know the gps is overkill but I have a spare unit and want to use it, and a few bits I've forgotten at this moment in time.
I was originally going to use an arduino outside with the BME280 sensor for temp, humidity and pressure, but the mm already has built in support for the DHT22 (thanks for reminding me of that palcal)

The biggest thanks goes to Geoffg for assembling a version of the hex file with 9600 baud support, without that massive favour, I definitely would have had to give up.
