Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

@ lew247 and matherp - Yes, the SC model is based on sales of printed copies. They have said on their site that they do not have plans to release any on-line issues as PDF's at this stage, as they are far to easy to illegally distribute, and I would fully agree with that. Watermarking the PDF versions would do nothing to stop people copying and distributing the watermarked PDF to people who have not paid for the copy(the recipient would not care about the watermark, so long as they can read it), so I can see their point.
It's a difficult road these days, if you are a printed medium, with everything being digital.....
I think if you have the digital subscription, you can access any of the issues you want by logging into their website. You just can't download a copy of the actual PDF or magazine file and have that on a local device. I don't think you can print the online version either, although, I have not looked at that side of their website for ages so I could be wrong there.

As early as the first 3 months of 1973, eh? Just shows the memory is not what it once was. Maybe my thought that is was in 1976 was triggered by the fact that a friend built a 140 about then and I helped trouble shoot it. Maybe the Playmaster 136 was earlier than 1972, although I know that I did not get mine working until late 1973, as the kit supplier had provided PN4250s,from memory, rather than the 2N4250 used by the magazine. Back in those days before the internet, few of us had access to datasheets and this pin-out difference had myself, the techos at ABC and also TVT6, the then commercial channel, all mystified as to the fault. It all became clear once Electronics Australia itself investigated the mounting level of builder requests for help and spoke to Fairchild, the manufacturer. Once the erratum was printed, it was a simple matter to change the pin connections and bingo, away it went for some 40 years.

Sorry Bob I don't have those. I did have every issue ever printed from April 1939 to its demise, but when I moved I donated them to the Historical Radio Society of which I am a member. I do have them all up to 1969 on DVD. Send an email to SC I am sure they have all the old EA articles.
