Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Mike, thanks for sharing the code. I've only had the chance for a quick look but it is well commented so I should be able to follow it - most helpful.
A couple of questions:
- what size is the screen? (I'm hoping to use an LCD backpack (2.8", 320 x 240))
- I see that you show 8 wind headings - are not 16 available from the sensor?

Thanks again,

Andrew

Hi Andrew you are correct but I believe I settled on the 8 headings in the end as I found it far more reliable than trying to decipher the 16, also lets face it quite adequate for a home system.

I have copious readings in my project notes from a couple of years back when I was testing an I believe that I found the range was just not well determined enough (or linear) especially also as the micromite was a 3.3v device and the product notes
see here were based on a 5v supply. You will notice also in the code I smoothed out the results quite a bit as well to remove the erratic tendencies.

The screen is a 7" LCD running on a MX470 , the photo only showed a portion.

Mike
