About the SMD-Version of the CMM2:

To avoid any misunderstanding in advance, please help me ...

Is THIS the final Version?

And will it get flashed the same way described in the Manual using the STM32CubeProgrammer?

Hi Poppy,

It appears to be the version 1.5 which AFAIK is the final version of the All-in-One PCB version.

The only difference I could see was that the one in the photo looks like the solder mask covered the NunChuk connector and had to be scraped away.. The ones I have, have this area non-masked.

I have some PCBs available if you need one.. but as I am in Australia it may take some time to get to you.

Thanks Mick,

but I am not looking for the PCB itself, I am just trying to follow up the whole issue.

What about the firmware flashing?
Is it done the same way?

Yes. �Currently via Windows or Linux (on PC or RPi or any other device).

With the waveshare board you can also load firmware via JTAG e.g. using OpenOCD, which is supported on many systems.

I suppose it could be done from CMM2 to CMM2 but would need some work and how do you get it on to the first CMM2...

The single board version is precisely the same circuit as a motherboard + waveshare and all usage including programming is the same. It can also be programmed using the ST-LINK header using a ST-LINKV2 or ST-LINKV3 These pins are a subset of the JTAG header but are all that is needed. At some stage I'll post the gerbers and BOM for the single board version together with the component placement file to allow anyone to make it or have one made.

Do these PCBs share the same footprints for the protruding components as the Silicon Chip boards? I prefer the single board design but would like to complement the board with the front / rear case panel PCBs that Silicon Chip are selling.

I�ve had a look at pictures of both boards and the protruding components all appear to be in the same location.

Poppy,
I have an all-in-one version.
The flashing of the firmware is very well described in Appendix G of the manual and even I managed it first go (after I put the Program jumper in the right place).

Yes, of course, they are directly replaceable and functionally identical

I have produced a "Care and Feeding your new CMM2" document.

It is based on my own testing as well as reading through the 3500+ pages of information provided by STM

Care_and_feeding_you_new_Colour_Maximite_2.pdf
