Hi Mick, Finally got my nunchuck connectors from China. It took roughly 3 month to get here... But these are nice. Made a small convertor using GP26/27 for I2C. Adapter for PicoGameVGA port A. ![]() Volhout Edited 2024-12-10 19:08 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Much neater than mine. I spliced two controller extension cables together, made a mess of the heat shrink and ended up bodging with insulation tape. IIRC it's not a thing of beauty inside either ![]() ![]() Best wishes, Tom Edited 2024-12-10 19:28 by thwill MMBasic for Linux, Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Are you building a PicoGAME HDMI, Volhout? :) I had fun with that little adapter, seeing how tight I could squeeze the bits in. :) Yeah, my connectors took ages too. There's no option for faster shipping either, I suspect they come by rickshaw then by paddle steamer. It rather puts me off specifying them for a PCB when RJ11 connectors are so easy to get. Yeah, I might. Did you build one already ? Is it working ? The only thing I would change is add e-caps in the audio output from the DAC, and 10k's to ground to have a DC-free audio output. For the rest i seems sane. Schematics ? Volhout P.S. I still don't have a USB pico (was waiting for Plasma, but no action for months. I may order boards myself (i.e. yours). I do need to locate the modules you use (hub, ch340e, rtc, usd card). Edited 2024-12-10 21:49 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

The modules I'm using were all from AliExpress. I'll sort out the rest of the info for the PicoGAME HDMI ASAP. I think I got clogged up while doing the manual. lol I have a circuit, and it includes isolating caps and bleed resistors on the DAC outputs. There are several changes in the board, including adding a linear regulator. That was needed so that I could use GP23. Hi Mick, Maybe you want to use the on board switcher, using the DAC the noise is not an issue (the DAC uses it's internal reference). The linear regulator is needed for better performance on ADC and lower audio noise (and maybe VGA video noise, but I have never seen that on the LCD monitor I use, but HDMI is digital anyway). But you can set the switcher forced to PWM, battery efficiency is not so much of an issue when driving a HDMI bus powered from mains. Finally got rid of the "aligator clips" nunchuck/classic connection. PicoGameVGA port A, and nunchuck connected to system I2C bus. ![]() Volhout Edited 2024-12-10 23:20 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

I'm not using the linear reg to reduce noise, just to get GP23 as a general purpose input. I ran out of GPIO pins. :) The original design did use the switcher but then I realised that I'd missed a pin. I could have sacrificed the joystick facility on Port A, but I didn't want to as I've already lost it on Port B. I considered it more important to have both I2C ports available as they are of more use. It's all compromises. :) That's a very neat little board. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
