I just realised that mmcc is a terminal that mmedit uses.
I always closed it to use mmedit again or there are multiple mmcc when I close mmedit.
I opened a blit demo in mmedit and ctrl-c stopped the code with an image still on lcd.
in mmcc open typing run restarted the code.
I clicked the flash button in mmedit and the demo restarted.
I pressed ctrl-c and it did not stop it.
I powered off and disconnected usb and reconnected and clicked flash again to reprogram and ctrl-c stopped the code.
This could just be a key board problem. I will try another usb key board.

I am copying all info posted that I can't find in the manual to a file and a win icon to it. lots of key presses but appreciated info.

I got to go with the flow and follow the rules.

The do loop was used to keep a previous basic not clearing something and it stuck instead of end.
