Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

If you turn local echo on, you will see each character as you type and again when it's echoed by the maximite.
Test the line at a time mode first to see if that is the problem.

Just tried this(put TT back to line at a time mode), and typed PASS carefully then ENTER - connection closed.

I will ask about this on the WizNet forums - this is the only bit I can't make work.

UPDADE: No reply from the WizNet forums - yet.

My new TTL modules have arrived, which are actually hardware version 1.4, which is nice, as these are the latest.

I will hook one of these up tomorrow, and see if I can get past the password issue - they may have fixed it in the new version - perhaps.

Hi folks.

An update for you all: Got a reply from the guys at WizNet, and they said that TT is adding CR to the password, which is probably right, and this is not correct.

  Quote
I tested input the connection password using TeraTerm, I was found CR(0x0d) in the end of password string. (in wireshark packet captures) so, if you input the password to WIZ107SR TCP server using TeraTerm, the WIZ107SR recognized as invalid character. (e.g. 'PASS' => 'PASS(CR)')

I recommend that you use a another terminal program.

They went on to suggest this as a suitable application, so I will download and have a play with it.

So, just to clarify:

- Connect to module
- Type PASS(or whatever) (TT set to line-at-a-time mode)
- That done, DON'T press enter, but press CTRL+J

Correct?

Does a CTRL+J just send the current line without a CR or LF?

RIGHT!

THIS TIME - Bed.....

Or do a 'paste' into teraterm with TT set back to character at a time mode.
By pasting, you will send all the characters in one hit. That's what I had to do with some bluetooth modules that I was playing with.

Yes, they are quite expensive.  I don't use them anymore cos of that, mainly.
I switched to using the USR TCP232  module instead.

13 Euro.

EDIT: This thread is eight years old, and with the virus, the prices of the 107SR from WizNet has probably gone up a bit, but the USR module is still much cheaper, and essentially does exactly the same thing, and I seem to recall finding it much easier to get working then the 107SR also, so....
