Hi Lads, A few more additions to the Mik_libs I have been trying to implement 3D in all parts so bare with me.. As you can see there are a few minor issues (MINI USB Through hole Schematic for one) But it is still a work in progress. I have added a lot more headers and extended the range to 2 row headers as well. 2015-02-22_041232_Transistors.zip 2015-02-22_041249_ICs.zip 2015-02-22_041309_Headers.zip 2015-02-22_041622_Connectors.zip 2015-02-22_041645_RCA_.zip 2015-02-22_041703_VGA.zip Note Due to the 3D models size the RCA and VGA headers are in their own ZIPs Here are some screen shots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Mick PS. If anyone has any comments that can improve the libraries please let me know or if you have any parts that you want a lib part for also let me know. Mick EDIT *** Some extra parts here that weren't in categories. 2015-02-22_042239_Extras.zip Mik Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Great stuff Mik. ![]() I hope to be 3D printing a new PCB based on all this work of yours (to ensure my design fits in the case ok). Has anyone here 3D printed their board before from AutoTrax DEX?? If so please let me know how it went (and was it easy to achieve?) - Thanks WW |

Great thanks very much Mik. I've made a few custom parts of my own which i'll share when i've double checked them. Not sure if i'll be up to doing the 3D version though! John |

Hi Smudge, If I can assist by adding the 3D for you I am happy to give it a go. A lot of parts have an automatic 3D which looks OK (like the headers) I can load better more accurate looking 3D models which I get from HERE but these add to the size of the library parts so I use them on the specialty items only. WhiteWizard, How do you intend to print your 3D work? I don't think that DEX supports that feature unless you can print an export of the PCB somehow. Mick, Can you not save in .stl format? If so this should do it. I will take a look later today and if .stl exists I will take one of the demo 3D files and try a 3D print (just to check it works. Will let you know how it goes . . . . WW |

Hi WW, I just tested it. Yes it can output as .STL (I loaded it into `inventor' and it looks fine but no colour) it can also output as .SVG .IDF Colada and Active 3D Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

@bigmik, Would you mind sending me a .stl file (from AutoTrax) representing your NanoMite? I would love to try a 3D print asap but the example files supplied with AutoTrax are a bit too big an output to try a 3D print to begin with. So I thought your NanoMite would make a great test print. If there are any 'file-save' options then just leave them on default. Hope you're ok with me trying/asking this ![]() WW |

Hi All, One of our members asked me for a standard power jack connector as he couldnt find one in the included DEX libraries.. I found some (not named as you would expect) but they were pretty ordinary and had tiny holes and small pads and of course NO 3D image. So I created this part for him.. I have uploaded it here as I am sure others might want it too. 2015-04-02_234533_Power_Jack.zip ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Lads, Don has graciously supplied some space for these libraries to be stored.. As I have new parts to share I will add them here.. I also intend to clean the listing up and organise the parts in groups with maybe a version No so that you can see if you have the latest connectors list for instance. You can find the libraries HERE !! If anyone else has parts to share I am sure Don wont mind adding yours there as well. @bigmik (and donmck!) This is great stuff - thanks for making this available. ![]() I am still stuck in Eagle but will hopefully migrate soon to take advantage of the 3D 'modelling' Mick - I still have to try the 3D print of your NanoMite - I have not forgotten, but I have been busy with the kids computer project. Keep the libraries coming . . . . WW |

Hello, I am a new user of Autotrax and it is very easy to use, but I am wondering to know how to import libraries from Eagle. Import projects is not a problem, but when I try to import libraries I use "File>Import>Eagle library" there is no window or menu to import files. As some users have imported eagle libraries, can you say to me how did you do it? Thank you for your answer |

Hi AL, If you are referring to the large EAGLE Library located on Don's site (in my previous post) then just download it and extract the entire contents of already converted eagle libs into the directory that should look something like this C:\Users\MIK\AppData\Roaming\AutoTRAX Software\DEX\Library\Eagle
Replace MIK with whatever your login name is.. Then the parts will appear automatically in the library in a folder called EAGLE If you mean another eagle lib.. I will have to play again it was a long time since I did one.. I really do NOT like the eagle format libraries as in many (most) cases they have terrible silkscreen overlays, incorrect hole sizes, and never have any 3D content.. I generally prefer to create my own parts which is pretty simple from scratch.. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi AL, Ok, as I do not have Eagle installed on my current PC I went to THIS SITE to download a sample eagle library. In this case I saved the "microchip-pic32mx.lbr" library to my desktop. From within DEX do the following: Click the big circle with DX in it (Top left) Select IMPORT Select EAGLE Library This should bring up a dialog to point to the directory that holds your eagle lib... use the box with the ... in it to navigate to your eagle lib. Then select the path to where you want this converted library to be saved.. Use set to library path then scroll to the end and change the name to a directory of your chosing and click OK/Convert and it will be converted and saved in DEX format for you in DEX's libraries. When I look at this file in a free xgl-viewer it looks OK. Bur when I import it in dex, serveral ipt's of the assembly are gone. What am I doing wrong, has enebody a clue ??? |

Hi Willy, Welcome to the Back Shed (TBS) forum. I often have the colour reverting to totally BLACK when inserting a part but not missing parts... I would suggest something is wrong with your XGL file... What part is it you are trying to import? Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi Willy, On my free XGL viewer that looks to me like a SMT right angle 2 pin 0.1" header. When I import it into DEX it somehow looks like a one pin instead.. If that is correct try this one 2015-07-14_141532_2Pin.zip It looks like this once imported into DEX ![]() FYI. I got the part from 3D content as a solidworks 2014 model and used autodesk inventor to convert it to XGL format Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |
