Grrrr,

Maybe today.

On a side note,
Been thinking it would be a great place to build a couple of Peter Mather's projects;

The Scope & Logic Analyser,

Then they could be just plugged on the E100 when are needed,
that way a single E100 could become a multi purpose device.

  matherp said  I've already written the cfunctions for both an Oscilloscope and logic analyser but they need someone to write a user interface to make them properly usable

If I go down that road, might see if I can implement the tabbed display.

Mine arrived yesterday too, thanks. Both in fine shape although one took a little effort to remove the sticky tape :)

My E-100 prototype boards came in today. The boards look great, plenty of working room.
I like the little smiley face on the back.

Thanks Grogs,

Lou

Hey Grogs,

Do you have any of these prototyping boards left? I need something to attach to my newly minted E100 -1C (when it arrives! )

Cheers!

Hi-de-hi.

Yes, I have four or five left. Would you like one or two?

Hey Grog,

Are they all gone yet?

If so, maybe a 1.01 update should be made before getting any more.

You know, that matching sandwich footprint we both over looked.

I ended up slotting one hole out & then using washers to grab the PCB on the other edge to sandwich the 3 boards.
(Display, E100 & Proto).

Cheers

Phil.

Hey there.

Can you provide some more details, such as photo of the issue or change you want?

I have not ordered any more of these, but I certainly will if there is demand for them, and I have pretty much sold all of the 1A's now.....

Not much happening with IO on this one;

Just an ESP-01 & a HC-12.
It receives data from all my others.

The size is the biggest issue; not matching the E-100.

Notice the top left hole is slotted to get a screw in &
the lower edge is being grabbed by a couple of bit of plastic.

There's also a fly lead to get the console to the board;
That's no big issue.

The folded 40 pin ribbon is not an issue here; could be in some cases,
but could also be folded against the bottom of the board rather than between the two.

Phil.

OH, I see what you mean now.

The prototyping board was never designed to be stacked with the E100, but that is actually a pretty damn good idea now you point it out.

It would be easy enough to change that for the next version though. This would have the effect of making the prototyping board slightly shorter, but slightly taller if you get my drift.

This means you would have to loose a few of the columns of connections, so there might only be 35 columns instead of 40 as there is now. Do you see that as any kind of major problem?

No,

I figured you'd need to lose a bit here & there.

Maybe with the gained width, you could also add 3 x 4 hole strips to the other end to give users a anchor place to jump the console port up to if desired.

Bit like what's on the left, but reversed.
3x4, 3x3 or even 3x2, whatever works.

Phil.

Edit:-

Probably doesn't matter if the connector is OUTSIDE the E100 footprint either,
would allow people to create a tighter sandwich if needed, just have to have a case to accommodate it all.

Then maybe the stand-offs could be shorter & components on the other side.

(Thinking out loud).

He's how the connector sticks out at the moment.

That's not much of an issue I don't think.
More a case of whether it has advantages or not.

Those stand-offs are 30mm.

PS,

Probably go with Quad Flux Capacitors;

Just in preparation for the move beyond 3D Time Travel.

A-Ha, gotcha.

So you think that 88MPH should do the modifications OK?
We might see some serious faeces....

If there is one thing I have learnt over the years is that you can never, ever, have too many flux capacitors......
