Yes, I managed to shoehorn it in there. If you solder-blob those three pairs of pads, you will have a bog-standard E64 with it's PIC32 USB port. Or, install the USB daughterboard and DON'T solder blob those pads. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Just a little update: The new 1D version of the E64 will INCLUDE a 16Kb(2K) 11AA160 UNIO memory chip:

If you want to use it, solder-blob two pads, and it will be accessible on pin-30. If you DON'T want to use it, just don't blob those two pads, and you can use Pin-30 as a standard I/O pin.
These memory chips will be included on any new assembled 1D E64 modules, and also included in the kits, naturally. They add less then 50c to the price of the new E64. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Left of IC3, between it's pin, and the pad below. I will clarify that on the silkscreen. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Looks real nice G!. And very practical too.
Worth considering selling both PCBs separately too as one daughterboard can be used across many E64 modules (i.e. people just want to get extra E64 PCB without the daughterboard).
Great stuff . . . |

Yes, that is the plan. I will be offering the new 1D E64 and the daughter-board separately. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

UPDATE:
The SOT-23 UNIO chip works fine in the latest board.

This chip will be included on all new 1D boards and kitsets. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
