Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Now how to stick to aluminium?

Mick

I would definitely mount a steel subplate first.

The real convenience is when I come to connecting wires because I can pull the board away from the backplate for easier access.
For reasons unknown, the signals from the dozens of proximity sensors arrive at the opto-coupler board on 1mm² conductors and this results in a certain amount of pull on the board itself...not a problem for the neodymiums, they suck that baby right in to place.

I get a roll of 20 pieces for ~GB£5

All kinds of shapes and sizes available and since I started using them, 2 years ago, I have become somewhat obsessed with looking for uses for magnets

Just keep them away from the SDCard socket.

Hi Jim,

I was initially concerned about that....

But when my GF's dog kept randomly running away, I got one of those GPS tracking devices and tied it to his collar. This device required a SIM and an SD card and it had a magnet built-in for attaching to a vehicle. This is what inspired me in the first place.

@ plasmamac

If you try to set a baudrate lower than 100, for example

OPTION BAUDRATE 75

MMBasic reports an error saying that 100 is the lowest baudrate.

SD and LCD are pre-configured (OPTION LIST). SD commands are basically as for MM+ (manual page 20-21)--plus RUN file$, LIST file$ (and maybe some others).
Winbond flash is available with SPI commands (haven't tried it).
matherp said   There is nothing in the flash memory. You can easily use it from Basic using normal SPI commands.
